Paul Davis was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his radio hits and solo career which started worldwide in 1970. His career encompassed soul, country and pop music. Davis had his first American Top 10 single with the ballad "I Go Crazy," which peaked at #7 in 1978. "I Go Crazy" spent 40 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, which at the time set the single-song record for most consecutive weeks on the chart in the rock era. His biggest or most well known hit was probably 65 Love Affair which was his highest charting single from the album Cool Night which came out in 1981. After giving up recording in the eighties, Paul wrote numerous songs for other performers, mainly in the field of country music. Before his death on April 22, 2008 (one day after his 60th birthday), Paul Davis had returned to singing and songwriting recording two songs, "You Ain't Sweet Enough" and "Today." He died of a heart attack at the Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.
MP3s that will appear on this blog will be available for only a week or so(usually far less) and are here for sampling purposes only. It is not my intention to violate copyrights. My only goal is to share my love/hate relationship with music and to expose people to music they may be unfamiliar with. If you are the creator or copyright owner of a song or anything else that might be posted here, please CONTACT ME by sending an e-mail to homercat at shaw dot ca if you wish to have it removed. I don't know why someone would want me to quit promoting their music for free and therefore putting money in their pockets by getting people to buy their stuff, but I will quit if you e mail me.
Most importantly, if you like an artist you hear here , you should definitely do your best to take the knowledge you gain here and go out and BUY THEIR ALBUMS to help support the artist.
